KAKORE: Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, has unveiled a state-of-the-art, 500-million-shilling building under construction at St. Agatha Girls’ Secondary School Kakore in Hamurwa Sub-County. The multi-story building, featuring a modern computer lab on its top floor, is set to transform learning at the only girls’ secondary school in Rubanda District.
Kasyaba inspected the construction site on Thursday during the Inter-Secondary School Prayer Day, an event that brought together students, teachers, religious leaders, and dignitaries for a day of prayer and reflection.

Funded by the central government, this 500-million-shilling project is part of Rubanda District’s multi-million infrastructure development program. Spearheaded by Kasyaba’s administration since 2021, the program aims to enhance education infrastructure across the district.
During his visit, Kasyaba highlighted other key education investments, including:
A 300-million-shilling multipurpose hall at Kashakyi Secondary School.
Two girls’ dormitories at Bubare Secondary School, costing 300 million shillings.
Boys’ and girls’ dormitories at St. John Ikumba and St. Andrew’s Secondary School, each costing 300 million shillings.
A 300-million-shilling multipurpose hall at Bufundi College Kacereere.
A 200-million-shilling multipurpose hall under construction at St. Charles Lwanga S.S.
Kasyaba emphasized that these projects are part of a broader plan to improve government-aided schools by providing quality infrastructure.

Additionally, the district is supplying pre-printed iron sheets for Parent-Teacher Association-initiated buildings, science kits, and twin desks to schools with severe seating shortages.
He also acknowledged Rubanda East MP and State Minister of Finance, Henry Musasizi, for supporting the Inter-Secondary School Prayer Day and for his role in lobbying funds for the district’s education sector.
Encouraging students to focus on their studies, Kasyaba stressed the importance of education for a brighter future. He noted the increasing number of girls in schools, attributing this shift to growing awareness of education’s value.
“In today’s society, no boy is willing to marry an uneducated girl,” Kasyaba remarked, underscoring education’s role in shaping better life prospects.
