WELCOME TO OUR ACADEMICS SECTION

At St.Agatha Girls’ School, we are dedicated to providing a broad and robust curriculum that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth. Our academic program is designed to empower students with the skills and knowledge essential for future success, while cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. We offer a comprehensive range of subjects at both O-Level and A-Level to meet diverse interests and career aspirations.

Since its establishment, the school has posted great improvement in academic and infrastructural aspects. The school is ranked among top 500 best performing secondary schools in Uganda at both UCE & UACE examinations.  Currently, the school is ranked the 1st in UCE & UACE in Rubanda District. 

DEPARTMENTS

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

The Department, led by Mr. Atuhairwe Aloisias, ignites curiosity and innovation through Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. With well-equipped laboratories and a hands-on approach, we empower students with the knowledge and skills to excel in science, technology, and beyond.

HUMANITIES DEPARTMENT

The Department, under the leadership of Mr. Tumukwasibwe Moses, nurtures critical thinkers and responsible global citizens through subjects like History, Geography, CRE, and Economics. With a focus on real-world applications, cultural awareness, and ethical values, the department equips students to understand and shape society.

LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT

The Languages Department, led by Ms. Muteguzi Elizabeth, nurtures excellence in English, Kiswahili, Literature in English, and Runyankore Rukiga. Through effective communication, creative expression, and critical thinking, we empower students with the language skills needed for academic achievement and future career success.

VOCATIONAL DEPARTMENT

The Vocational Department, led by Ms.Katusiime Prospel, equips students with practical skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) , Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Physical Education (PE). Through hands-on learning, we empower learners for self-reliance and success in various trades and industries, shaping them into future innovators and job creators.

ACADEMIC SUBJECTS

O'Level Subjects

At St. Agatha Girls’ Secondary School, we offer a comprehensive range of O’Level subjects aligned with the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Sports guidelines.

The following core subjects are compulsory: English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, in line with government policy. To further meet the objectives of the school’s founders, Christian Religious Education (CRE) is also made a compulsory subject.

Additionally, students can choose from a variety of optional subjects, including Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Literature in English, Fine Art, Kiswahili, Music, Computer Studies, Runyankole Rukiga, and Physical Education. These subjects are carefully selected to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary for their academic and future career paths.

A'Level Subjects

At St. Agatha Girls’ Secondary School, we offer a diverse range of A-Level subjects designed to prepare students for academic and professional success.

Our A-Level curriculum includes Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics (with an option for Subsidiary Mathematics). In the Humanities, we offer Economics, Geography, History, and Divinity. For Languages, we teach Literature in English, Kiswahili, and Runyankore Rukiga. Our Vocational Studies include Agriculture, and Fine Art, while Technology is represented by Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
